Finito! And an awesome feature!

Baby K's nursery is being featured!

Stop by I Heart Pears and look around this beautiful blog for many great shower and nursery themes and ideas! Thanks Elise!

Sweet Baby K's room is finally done! I was having so much fun I had to force myself to stop! Once I had the branches touched up I went back through with a few different shades of brown for shading and added glitter to random areas! I kept all of her Well Child exam records and I was able to chart her growth from birth on the trunk of the tree!

One final touch was this book mobile. With some floral wire, hot glue and ribbon I created a unique corner look. I hope she enjoys this for years to come!

My first and most likely LAST mural...

A room makeover has been a long time coming!

We knew that Sweet baby K would be our last baby! On random days...and they are getting fewer! We muse about trying once more for a boy...those days are few! Because she was our last little one we decided to have some fun with my pregnancy and we did not know her gender until birth (well I knew but played along into the hope that she would be a he) On the off chance we would welcome home a little boy I decorated the nursery in a unisex theme. Now that I know my little girl and know her bright little personality I have been cursing my brown and green choice. I looked and pondered forever as to how I would change it...

Adorable!

I had been wanting a tree of some kind but could not find one I liked! My friend was within hours of cutting a vinyl tree for me on her silhouette when I found this beautiful baby girl room at" Unique baby gear ideas " I loved it so much that I started painting that afternoon!

A funny thing...

I set to work by first priming my chocolate brown walls with a white latex paint. Then...painted it back to the original lavender color my husband had painted the room with. He found this slightly amusing!

I started my tree by free handing the trunk and branches.

Then went back through to clean it up...

Instead of painting flowers I used double sided scrap book paper to create these cuties! A button center!

To spare myself  extra work and to save some of my original effort I  used the green strips to create a colorful tiled look.

I just need to finish touching up the branches! I am so excited!

Will post the final pics soon:)

Happy dollidays....

How was everyone's Christmas? Ours was truly grand....and it continues!

During a three A.M. delirium with baby K my eyes wandered to her diaper changer. She is growing! Nearly too tall for it we were coming to the end of its use. As I sized the changer up wondering where it should go next I got the idea for dolly beds!  Our older kids are growing too! If you have girls then you know all about AG dolls! My kids are fans! I always find their dolls in dresser drawers or other strange "beds".....It was perfect! Santa brought a new girl and I have not seen my girls all morning:)

Projects Two and Three...Finally!

Project #2...

I decided to make myself an earring holder and love it! I realized that many of my posts have to do with organization...but I finally have the time to do it! I feel so incredibly busy and there is always so much to be done, but I am grateful for a flexible schedule now. Full-time work and full-time school never was good for making a home. So I find myself organizing and doing all the things that I have wanted to do for years and feeling like it is coming together one day at a time.

I have become a fan of pink as of late and even though it doesn't match the bathroom, couldn't resist! Again, just got a frame from the thrift store for $1, painted it, backed it with fiberglass screening and then with fabric. Add a hanger and you're done!
Here it is with my earrings that finally have a home!
I think it turned out nice in my bathroom. I found the white shelf at the thrift store for $4. I have my headbands and bracelets on the shelf with a few other odds and ends. I hang my necklaces from the bar and now the earrings are easy to find and fast to put off and on.
 Project #3...

I found this cute shadow box at the thrift store for $1 with the roses in it. The door is hinged, so it can be closed for a box, but I like to keep it open for more dimension and so it can stand up. All it needed with a little TLC - removal of some extra hardware, a little paint and glass cleaner. Cute for the baby room or living room.

Project #1

I was so excited to make this! I got a frame from DI and painted it, then backed it with ribbons and fabric. A whole lot of hot glue and a picture hanger later...I feel like I have a little flower garden! All of the baby's cute little hats on the left, headbands in the basket on the right and all of her cute little hairbows and clips on my new ribbon frame creation! I am so pleased with it. Thank you to all the sweet friends and family that have given us so many cute accessories.
